Good morning from Singapore!
This is to let you know that I have just uploaded another video on YouTube.
Please check out this video, in which I have made a self-introduction in Mandarin Chinese:
It was my very first time to shoot a video in Chinese, and I got really nervous in front of the web cam!
For those of you who speak Chinese, please by all means write your comments or suggestions, so that I can improve myself!

Hi Uncle Polyglot,
I'm a Singaporean who happened to stumble upon your blog. It's very impressive that you speak so many languages!I'm just curious, are you a translator? Thanks.
Hi goodidae,
Many thanks for visiting this blog! It feels really great that I finally have a Singaporean visitor on this blog!
To answer your question, I am actually not a translator.
I just happened to be fascinated with languages from very young age. Currently, I am mainly focusing my attention on learning French, and am planning to post a French video on YouTube in the near future.
Thank you once again for visiting. Will keep trying to make this blog more interesting!
Cheers,
Uncle Polyglot
Hi, another Singaporean who chanced upon your blog.
Lived in Shanghai for 3 years and I must say that your spoken Mandarin is as good as the average Shanghainese who speak standard "Pu Tong Hua" without a thick Shanghainese accent.
Attempted with Shanghainese / Italian / Korean using language books + CDs, but it never quite worked out … LOL!!!
I speak a couple of languages & dialects with various level of fluency – English obviously, Mandarin, Thai, mixture of Malay/Indonesian, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew. Picked them up along the way in environments that I was in, but would not have preserved in learning or studying them formally.
Your enthusiasm in learning languages is impressive and trust that you will have lots of fun out if it. Good luck :)
Hi Chien,
Welcome! It's really nice to have another Singaporean visitor to this blog!
Many thanks for your kind comment on my Mandarin, but I'm afraid that my Chinese has gotten rusty over the past few years, as I haven't been working diligently to keep it up.
Having said that, Mandarin still remains one of my favourite languages, as it's really beautiful and pleasing to the ear. I am also a big fan of Mandarin and Cantonese pop music.
Currently I'm focusing on studying French. It's an extremely difficult language to learn, but I really love it! In fact, I am planning to upload a video in French on YouTube soon!
I'd be delighted if you could check out my blog and videos from time to time.
Take care, and wish you a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Uncle Polyglot
